Welcome to Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area in Waterford Township, Michigan! This moderate-level guided hike explores Pontiac Lake's primary hiking trail that is a park favorite for hiking and trail running. Starting from the main trailhead, this out-and-back cuts through the heart of Pontiac Lake's best geographic features: dense marshlands, mature forests, spacious grassland prairies, dramatic moraine hills, and, naturally, panoramic views of Pontiac Lake.
